even if you simplify this much thing of the gradients. I'm assuming you used one color for the shadow side and another for the highlight. There should be a lot more hue/saturation shifts within the highlights and shadows. Also you didn't add any highlights/shadows to the columns. It's really important to do that since you're trying to learn how to light. Really think how the light is affecting the objects. Every objects has a highlight and shadow side. Keep going!
Ok, thanks. I really got frustrated on this one ...more because of the perspective of the camera. I redid this one a few times but I should have thought about the colors more.
Do you add the grads in the shadows and highlights when you start blocking? Or after?
